The MobileStore, a mobile solution store by the Essar Group, Wednesday said blocked Chinese mobile phones can now be re-activated by using its International Mobile equipment Identity (IMEI) implant process.
'If your Chinese mobile phone is blocked, you can come to The MobileStore to get it reactivated at a nominal charge of Rs 199 only, through a simple IMEI implant process,' said a company spokesperson here.
IMEI is a unique 15 digit identification number for the safety and security of their Mobile Handset.
Arti Mehta, Chief Marketing Officer, The MobileStore said that 'The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices. We have successfully done over 30,000 IMEI implants at our 160 stores in 60 cities. IMEI number is an important tool
for the handset tracking. This is a step in the right direction to support national security program.'
The MobileStore has over 1300 company owned – company operated stores, across 200 cities.
