Shankar Pali of mangalore

Shankar Pali


Milk : 1 Cup
Sugar : 1 Cup
Ghee : 1/2 Cup
Maida : 2 Cups
Semolina : 1 Cup
Salt to taste.


1. First boil the milk in a vessel. Add the sugar and stir for it to dissolve. Then add the ghee and salt and mix well.
2. Then remove from fire. Add maida and rawa (slightly fried) to the mix.
Knead the dough and keep aside for 2 / 3 hours.
3. Roll it as making a Chappati with a rolling pin. With a cutter make diamond shaped shankarpalis. Fry in ghee till brown.
