Bangalore school is best international school

Bangalore-based international school -- The International School Bangalore (TISB) -- has been ranked among top five schools across the globe. Other schools in the list are from the US, China, Singapore and Australia.

The Good Schools Guide (GSG), a publication that conducts survey on independent international schools in UK and abroad, has TISB topping the list, followed by Dulwich College, China; Phillips Exeter Academy, US; United World College of South, Singapore, and Pymble Ladies College, Australia.

TISB principal Matthew Sullivan told TOI that the `independent school' show is held in London every year. "This is a largest marketing event for parents wanting to send their children to private schools in UK and abroad," he said. The show will be held on October 30 and 31.

Also, he said a magazine will be given to students at the show. It features information on international schools selected by GSG. This list will benefit parents. "This is the first time TISB has topped in the survey," Sullivan said.

TISB is accredited to The Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference (HHC), an organization for day and boarding independent schools in UK. Added to this, the school is also accredited to Boarding Schools Associations (BSA) in UK and Cambridge International Education Board.

Located at Sarjapur Road, the school was founded in 2000. Presently, the school has 900 students from pre-KG to Class 12 with a large campus offering excellent facilities.

The syllabus is drawn from the best curricula around the world. TISB follows international curriculum (IGCSE) and IB diploma, and Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP).

Also, students from this school are accepted at an exceptional list of British, American, Canadian and Asian universities.

This time, GSG had 5,000 international entries, discounting 3,000 that are "international only in name or bad quality".

"Just 2,000 remain as real option for parents moving abroad or seeking an intellectually agile education for their children," the publication stated.

According to GSG management, it was difficult to choose five best schools since there were so many entries. Also, there are diverse variables to choose from.
